We have not received any official apology letter from Kojo Bonsu, Our decision stands to expel him from K'si- Otumfuo Mpaboahene

The Mpaboahene of Asantehene Otumfuor Osei Tutu II says the Kumasi Traditional Council (KTC) has not received any official apology from the embattled Mayor of Kumasi, Kojo Bonsu.

Nana Yaw Owusu said, though the Ashanti Regional Minister, John Alexander Ackon represented and apologized on behalf of Mr. Kojo Bonsu at Monday's meeting of the council, the failure of the KMA boss to honour the invitation of the KTC was a gross disrespect to Nananom and the Overlord of Asanteman, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II.

“I can say on authority that, the Council has not received an official apology and we see that as disrespect to our Chief and so our issue of getting him out of his post still stands”, Nana Owusu told an Accra based radio station
Friday.

The Manhyia Palace on Monday severed ties with Kojo Bonsu for disrespecting Otumfuo Osei Tutu, the Overlord of Asanteman.

According to reports, the Asanteman, in demonstrating its level of annoyance over the lack of respect for the Great King last Thursday, slaughtered a sheep and summoned the KMA Boss to appear before Asanteman to answer certain queries against him.

The action taken against Mr. Bonsu was sparked by his unilateral removal of the Chief of Amoaman, Nana Agyenim Boateng, who is Otumfour’s representative on the Board of the Kejetia Market Projectt which is currently under construction without informing the king about his action.

Otumfour nominated the chief to represent him after issues of corruption and embezzlement of funds was leveled against Kojo Bonsu.
