It is a day to restore our promises to God (Allah) and also to people we've promised to give them and God (Allah) will reward those who honor their promises.
Eid al-Adha began in a sad time because to sacrifice your first beloved son to honor a request is something people in a high spirit only can do that.
And God (Allah) so be good to his people, he told Abraham to use the sheep to honor his sacrifice he made and that brought joy to Abraham's family and his household.
