BNI officials arrested him upon touching down at the Kotoka International Airport for alleged offensive conduct against President John Mahama.
Fadi's book, according to sources, pushes for a change in leadership in Ghana.
After he was released, the report says BNI did not arrest Fadi on his 59 Years Of Ghana To Nowhere; The Future Is Now book but it was a post he wrote on his facebook page.
This is what Fadi wrote on his facebook page
Relevant to the NDC sponsored terrorism that characterised "picketing the EC" a year ago yesterday, I present to you a tribute in the form of an excerpt from pages 210, 211, and 212 of the book "59 Years To Nowhere...and counting The Future is Now":
Soon the time of reckoning will be nigh, so let us heed the warning bells that are tolling in the distance; let us WAKE UP! Let us create a new awakening by the power of the thumb. Let us transfer Power to wise elders to reverse the plummeting image of Ghanaians. Let us bring back the Ghana that we know; the Ghana we had on the 6th of March 1957, when H.E. Dr. Kwame Nkrumah shouted at the top of his voice, “Ghana, your beloved country is free forever”.
59 years on and Ghanaians are not free at all…!
A peaceful demonstration dubbed “picketing the Electoral Commission” of the 16th September 2015, turned violent. Personnel from the Ghana Police Service used excessive and unwarranted savagery to brutalise peaceful demonstrators who were orderly and unarmed. The demonstrators sought to present a petition to the EC for a new voters register in lieu of the current one that had since compilation been over bloated, and clearly fraught with massive irregularities and fraud.
Leading members of the demo were beaten to pulp as rubber bullets and nitric oxide rained on the unsuspecting masses. A bullet sailed from the barrel of a callous Police Officer and took the eye of one demonstrator. An unruly failed Parliamentary candidate heartlessly stated that the blood that oozed from the victim’s eye was ketchup. Mothers were abused as if they were criminals.
The Communications Director of the NDP, Mr. Owusu Bempah, affirmed on an Accra radio station, 95.7 fm, that one Commander Yakubu received a phone call that went on as follows: “Thank you, Your Excellency. Yes Sir, Your Excellency, we shall deal with them, Your Excellency!” But who was the Excellency on the other end of the line? The NDP is a, relatively, the new political party headed by Madam Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, wife of the former President and founder of the NDC.
A friend of mine wrote (unedited): “During my times spent in Ghana under former President Rawlings’ regime, I never witnessed such spate of general state-sponsored brutality against innocent citizens than I keep reading and seeing images of under Mr. Mahama’s ruthless administration. Every level of the Ghanaian society seems to be in disarray - injustices and corresponding citizens’ disloyalty to government have become the order of the day; corruption is out of hand; recklessness and official negligence on the part of these people in Power abound....There have never been so many questions around the performance of a Government than there are under this administration. It would be irresponsible on the part of the opposition forces to back down on their civil responsibility to ensure free, fair and transparent elections devoid of any court rulings again. Enough of the cheating and evil in Ghana!”
