President Mahama, he argued, has been tried, tested and proven to be a failure -Albert Kan Dapaah

Former Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament, Albert Kan Dapaah, says he is very optimistic that the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will be a better candidate in the fight against corruption than the sitting President, John Drama Mahama.

According to him, although the NPP leader, Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo has not had the chance to govern the West African nation unlike his main competitor in the coming general elections, he has demonstrated that when given the chance, he would do better.

Such a personality, he noted, is what he is praying for to win the coming general elections in order to rid the country of
corruption.
President Mahama, he argued, has been tried, tested and proven to be a failure in the fight against corruption and therefore does not deserve another term in office.

“From all that I know about Nana Addo, his stance on corruption from the day that I first met him – he is very serious about fighting corruption and I believe he is capable of stopping corruption. He is my friend as well as President Mahama. Unfortunately, President Mahama has had the chance to fight corruption and I am saying that today I am totally dissatisfied with his fight against corruption in this country”.

“As far as corruption is concerned, he has failed”, he noted in an interaction with Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM, Tuesday.

In his view, all Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in the fight against corruption in Ghana have not been impressive with President Mahama’s performance on the issue, stressing that a candidate who fight corruption is all that Ghana needs at the moment.
