Using the heritage fund for education is a right direction - Mr Kusi Boafo

The chartered accountant and a former lecturer of Kumasi poly-technic Mr. Thomas Kusi Boafo said he is in support of government decision to use the heritage fund for the
free SHS program.

He said the best thing we can give our children is knowledge. It is good to save money for our children and how are we going to use the money to help children? Are we going to build houses for them, or share it to them individually, and what are they going to use the money for without knowledge? And what knowledge will they have to invest the money we save for them.

Mr. Boafo said there are some countries like South Korea, Singapore etc who have given their children education and now these countries have developed. If you we save the money for our children and we didn't give them the education and they become drinkers and armed rubbers how will the state benefits from the money we saved though the government shouldn't rely only on the heritage found.
