Acting General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu has rubbished comments made by Head of Research at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPC), Dr Kwesi Aning concerning the three retired South African Police Officers in the country.
According to Dr Kwesi Anning comments being made by the NPP concerning the issue has no basis – members of the party cannot say that Nana Addo’s popularity has made him more important than the 27 million people in this country.
To him members of the party should accept the
mistake caused and find ways to resolve the issue amicably than making the issue look as if the party was right in hiring security experts from outside the country to train their men for the upcoming elections.
He added that the issue is something the country should be much concerned with, than how the NPP wants it to be.
However, John Boadu in an interview with Peace FM News refuted the allegations leveled against the party by the security expert saying it is very necessary for the party to protect its executives from useless attacks and killings which have recently rocked this country.
“We won’t wait for the harm to be caused before we come addressing it because we want to work with the proverb 'prevention is better than cure',” he said.
He noted that Kwesi Aning as a security expert should have touched on the issue at hand than politicizing it.
“The security experts we brought in did not come into to the country through any bad means, in fact they passed through proper screening and on top paid duties,” he recounted.
He urged experts of some special fields in the country to be mindful of the words they use especially on air since that would permit others to use piercing words against them.
“Is Kwesi Aning telling Ghanaians that there is nothing wrong with information that the BNI always leaks to the public domain leaving punishable individuals to walk freely?” he questioned in an interview with Peace FM's Nana Yaw Kesse.
