A founder member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) says John Mahama has failed as a president because he has surrounded himself with 'baby ministers'.According to George Ayisi-Boateng, the ministers who are suppose to help the president achieve his objectives lack the requisite skills and experience.
He added that the incompetence of the NDC government has brought untold hardships to Ghanaians because the ministers and the president have not lived up to their promise.
Describing corruption in the NDC government as ‘frequent disease’, Mr Ayisi Boateng stressed that it is important for Ghanaians to vote out the Mahama government "for taking them for granted".He says government officials who have been given the mandate to manage the country’s resources have only ended up looting the state’s money with their positions.
“Mahama is really surrounded by baby ministers because I don’t see what they are doing in their ministries, only waiting to be fed like babies".
“They are not working but just doing reckless spending and using dubious means to corrupt the nation,” he asserted.
On the way forward, Mr. Ayisi- Boateng urged Ghanaians to vote massively for the NPP ahead of the November 7 elections.
He said the 'try me too' campaign message by the NPP flagbearer of the party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo should not be taken lightly since he believed the leader of the NPP has already been tested as a politician “and so there is no way to try him again”.
“Nana Addo has been tested already as a politician and so there is no way we should try him and so if he tells you to try him, let’s applaud him for that” he stated.
Reiterating Nana Addo’s call, the founding member in an interview insisted that the only politician in the country who is not corrupt is Nana Addo and so Ghanaians should consider that and give him the nod.
He said the former Attorney General when given the chance will manage the country’s resources very well and not mismanage it recklessly as the NDC government has done.
“Nana Addo is not a thief and so anything you give to him when he becomes the president he will be able to manage it very well,” he stated.
