During a Thursday phone interview with Big Boy on the radio show Real
92.3, West first explained how his reconciliation with Khalifa came to
be. He said their mutual musician friend, Malik Yusef “got us on the
phone. He’s very close to Wiz. He’s also very close to me. We chopped it
up, squashed it.”
During their Twitter battle, Khalifa mentioned “KK,” his personal
strain of marijuana known as “Khalifa Kush,” but West assumed the
abbreviation was in reference to his wife Kim Kardashian. The rapper
noted in his interview that this misunderstanding was the reason he
brought up Rose and Khalifa’s 2-year-old son into the conversation. “I
just saw my wife’s initials and reacted,” West said. “Because that’s my
family.” He added, “People think because my wife’s on TV, or because
she’s been in an ‘SNL’ skit… It’s open season or something. No, that’s
the mother of my kids, and I’m Ye.”
West further maintained, “At the end of the day, I’m gonna hold my
wife and family down.” He added, “I was happy we got it cleared up and
sh*t is good now. It was great to have closure and just talk.” And
finally, West confirmed the selfie that Kardashian and Rose took
together is “a real picture,” noting, “They were at Kris [Jenner’s]
house” when they snapped the photo. Listen to West’s full interview
