Katie May is dead, just four days after suffering a stroke. The Playboy model was 34.
As Gossip Cop reported earlier, May was hospitalized
in critical condition on Monday after having what her family called a
“catastrophic” stroke, caused by a blockage in her carotid artery.
Sadly, over the last few days, the rising star did not improve. And on
Thursday night, her family made the heartbreaking decision to take off
life support, and she died afterward.
May leaves behind a 7-year-old daughter named Mia. Earlier Thursday,
friends set up a GoFundMe account in hopes of raising money for the
little girl’s care. In the hours since, more than $8,000 has been
donated, though the goal is $100,000.
A statement on the fundraising page reads, “Anyone who was lucky
enough to know Katie May was truly blessed by her incredible heart, mind
and soul. She was an inspiration and a guiding light to so many people
in this world. Please help us by donating money to support her daughter.
We want to raise as much money for her daughter’s living trust as
possible to ensure she will always be taken care of. Her daughter was
Katie’s whole life, so please help Katie and her family by donating
money.
May was known on social media as the “Queen of Snapchat,” and had nearly 2 million followers on Instagram. She posed for Playboy, was featured by Sports Illustrated, and appeared on other websites and magazines. Gossip Cop offers condolences to May’s family and friends.
